Originally from Dubuque, Iowa, Melissa Schulz is a classically trained pianist and singer and now an in-demand performer across southern Minnesota. Melissa is a 2007 Luther College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in performance and education. After doing some teaching and other jobs for many years, she began transitioning to a near full-time career in music in 2019 when performances at senior care facilities eventually led to bookings at wineries, breweries, and other sites. 

Today, Melissa plays more than 250 shows a year at venues that include everything from bars and restaurants to fairs, festivals, and private events. The versatility of the events she performs at is matched only by the impressive variety of her setlists. With keyboard and drum tracks as desired, Melissa covers a large library of pop, rock, and country hits that span almost 8 decades of music. Her vocal range and piano skills mean she can cover songs few solo artists attempt, while always having many of the classic crowd-pleasers available at any time. Melissa’s performances are elevated by her charisma: with an astute ability to read an audience, she’s just as good at working a crowd as she is entertaining it. 

Melissa currently resides in Waseca, MN and also hosts a private music studio of piano and voice students, teaches dance fitness, serves as church pianist for two congregations, and occasionally substitute teaches in the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown district.
