Sourdough 101 Class

Come join us for a fun and interactive sourdough workshop at Chankaska Creek Ranch, Winery & Distillery! Learn the art of making your own sourdough bread from scratch. You'll be walked through the process, learning tips and tricks along the way. This is a hands-on event, so be prepared to get your hands dirty (in flour)! Don't miss out on this delicious opportunity!

You will leave class with dough to bake at home as well as a well established, 105 year old starter!

What do I need to bring? 
- Large mixing bowl (any kind) & dish towel (big enough to cover your bowl)

What are we doing? 
- We will start class by assembling your own dough for a delicious, classic loaf of Sourdough bread. Then we will dive in to all things Sourdough. How to feed, care, and maintain the well established, 105 year old starter that you will take home.

What type of flour will we use? 
- You will be provided all-purpose, unbleached flour to assemble your dough and feed your starter. You are welcome to bring your own flour if you prefer. 

Sourdough seems overwhelming, is it? 
- NO! Sourdough is simple. As with learning any new hobby is does take time and repetition, but you will be baking delicous bread (and more!) in no time. 

Can I grab a drink before class? 
- YES! Please arrive a few minutes early if you'd like to grab a drink before class. We will start promptly at our scheduled start time.

I can no longer attend, can I get a refund? 
- Refunds are available (minus fees) if canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled event.
