2023 Riesling
Vintage Notes
Our Riesling is sourced from the Columbia River Gorge whose cool climate and long growing season produces a fresh crisp wine. 2021 was a strange year for Washington. Traditionally Riesling is one of the last grapes we receive during our harvest season. 2021 delivered right in the middle of our busiest time late September. As one of our larger wines, this demanded a couple of precious tanks for the duration of grape deliveries which are always a precious commodity during harvest. Coming after a few high yield vintages, Washington took a breather in 2021 down 30-35% across the entirety of the state. That being the case, the quality and raciness of this vintage is unmistakably Riesling.
Tasting Notes
This well-balanced Riesling has an aroma and taste of juicy pear cider on the palate and mouth-watering pear, honey and golden delicious apple flavors and a lingering minerality on the finish.
Pairs well with a lot of umami flavors or a bit of spice like Indian food, Hoisin stir fry and cheese curds. Always a great accompaniment to sushi
